Diesel
Career Johan Lindeberg began in the late 1980s as managing director of one of the leading advertising agencies at the time, Hans Brindfors Annonsbyra. Without retail experience, he sought the right distribution and increased Diesel sales in Sweden from 1,000 to 200,000 pairs of jeans. He was then asked by Diesel's founder Renzo Rosso to become Director of International Marketing in 1992.
Lindeberg was able to leave a lasting impact as the $ 17.5 million campaign he created is still in use today by the brand. The "For a Successful Life" campaign is based on the fashion industry's concept that the right jeans or sports shoes will change a person's life. In the fall of 1994 Diesel won the Grand Prix at the Nordic Advertising Festival for a place that showed a monster appearing chasing a screaming girl who guided him into a trap with a large net. The place ends with a meat grinder and a burger of grilled monsters. Lindeberg later became CEO of US Diesel but resigned from his duties because of the exhaustion of constantly holding his own vision
J.Lindeberg
Johan Lindeberg founded the J.Lindeberg brand in 1996. While traveling through Europe on his motorbike, he visualized a fashion brand that reflects his personal and creative values ââjust like his own. The brand that Johan will wear himself, a brand that can not be found anywhere else.
Johan launched his brand during the summer of 1996 in Stockholm and New York simultaneously. The brand was named J.Lindeberg after Johan's own distinctive style and along with some of the company's investors were born, Johan himself did all his financial resources in the beginning. Two parallel offices where assembled, one in the Stockholm port district and another at 57th street Manhattan in New York City, because the brand will be international from the start. With himself as a Creative Director, Johan gathers a small team of designers led by Roland Hjort who was recruited from the Swedish clothing brand H & amp; M.
Johan was able to change the landscape of golf fashion as he dressed Jesper Parnevik with his vibrant pink pants. It was something the golf world had never seen before and formed Parnevik as a golf style icon. Lindeberg is also credited with making specially designed clothing before it becomes a trend. Its uniqueness and attention to detail is displayed throughout J.Lindeberg. This brand has been featured on the red carpet for awards ceremonies and premieres worn by celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Brad Pitt and Scott Piercy.
Paris68
When Johan and his wife Marcella moved to New York City, they started a high-end brand consultancy agency in 2007. The company called Paris68 paid homage to the student revolution in the French capital in May 1968.
William Rast
When Johan received a call from Reinard Hasse, German importer for William Rast, he was initially not as interested as J.Lindeberg and Paris68. It was not until he met the founder, Justin Timberlake, who is also a fan of J.Lindeberg that he was on board. Lindeberg and Marcella became Creative Directors of the brand in which Johan watched the men's clothing division and his wife run the women's division. They have a vision to create something that combines both the modernity and the coolness of Hollywood and the grainy roots of Tennessee. William Rast is a cross culture that links the influence of glamor and the spirit of Justin's roots. Lindeberg and Timberlake worked very closely and got along so well that he became Timberlake's personal stylist.
Departure
Until 2007 Johan each conjured up three projects: J.Lindeberg, Paris68, and William Rast. However, due to pressure from investors, Johan felt creatively blocked and left J.Lindeberg 2007 and William Rast in 2009.
BLK DNM
In 2010 Johan Lindeberg started a new project under Kellwood Company, BLK DNM with the launch of their first collection in February 2011. BLK DNM is a project that was established during the tough times in Johan's life as he and Marcella split up. Lindeberg is determined to find himself and channel his negative energy into something creative. He based his brand on his basic wardrobe stuff which was his typical leather jacket and black denim jeans. DNM's BLKs are sold exclusively online and to select the number of retailers to cut the middlemen to avoid over-marking and offering accessible retail prices. This brand is known for its simple and chic look that can be easily worn or subjected to a leisurely pace. It has been featured on magazine covers, worn by celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Kardashian, and Jay Z and Beyonce for their World Tour Tour. In May 2015 it was published that Johan Lindeberg would leave the DNM BLK to focus on personal projects.
Photography
Johan also found his passion for photography as a channel for communicating and expressing himself when he was filming street posters for the DNM BLK. He took the camera for the first time in August 2011 and has since worked with famous models, Gisele BÃÆ'ündchen, Kenza Fourati, Anja Rubik, and Arizona Muse. The goal is always to catch people and who they are, not their models. Lindeberg's subjects for photography have grown and flourished as he traveled to India with his daughter to document Nepalese women after the earthquake in 2015. In November 2015 Mazdack Rassi of Milk Studios organized the Lindeberg Gallery as an exhibition and won the award. Johan Lindeberg has a personal website where all his photography can be seen.
Absolut Elyx
In 2013 Johan Lindeberg took on a new project as creative director for the new Absolut vintage Absolute vodka, Absolut Elyx. There he focuses on position, strategy, and creative direction. He composed and photographed a series of brand launch campaigns featuring Chloe Sevigny, Adriana VarejÃÆ'à à £ o and Charlotte Gainsbourg. One of the most prominent details of the campaign is Lindeberg's ability to capture brand ambassadors in the raw industry space gives them a new edge.
Return to J.Lindeberg
In 2015 it was announced that Johan Lindeberg would return to his brand name after 10 years apart as creative director. After discussing with co-owner J. Lindeberg and being persuaded by his daughter, he decides to return to the first brand he ever made. He plans to re-imagine the voice and lifestyle of the brand with plans to launch a special collection for the 20th anniversary in 2017. Another special project that Johan planned was The Bridge Series which was launched in August 2106 featuring various individuals, who had the opportunity to express something that is meaningful and unique to them. Promotional efforts include magazines, and street posters.
