History

What is now XL Group's purpose was founded in 1976 by Calvin Margolis and Stanley Berger as Designs, Inc.

In May 2002, Designs, Inc. buy Casual Male Big & amp; The high store chain came out of bankruptcy and chose to focus their business in the stores, sell their other businesses and take the name Casual Male.

In 2004, the company acquired Rochester Big & Tall Clothing, which gives companies access to a number of designer brands including Robert Graham, Tommy Bahama, Cutter & amp; Buck, Jack Victor, and Robert Talbott. Also in 2004, Casual Male hired former boxer champion George Foreman to promote the chain and act as a spokesperson for new clothing lines with his name.

In 2005, Casual Male changed the name of his shop from Casual Male Big & amp; High to Ordinary Men XL.

In 2010, the company opened its first DXL store in Schaumburg, Illinois. Large & amp; High customers are looking for a superior shopping experience - which provides a better blend of quality, selection, and service. The opening of this new store marks the starting point of the company's transition from XL Men to DXL.

In May 2013, the company launched its first television and radio advertising campaign, entitled "No Man's Land," which supports the DXL brand.

In 2016, there are more than 200 DXL retail stores operating in all major metropolitan markets in the United States.
