Josh Scogin (born July 17, 1981) is an American musician, and is currently a vocalist and guitarist for '68. He is also known as the vocalist for The Chariot, and former vocalist Norma Jean and Luti-Kriss. Scogin has recorded solo material as A Rose, By Any Other Name, releasing the album in 2010.

Careers

He initially gained recognition as vocalist and founding member of the band Norma Jean, after recording two full-length albums, separate releases, and EP. Scogin left Norma Jean shortly after releasing their first album, Bless Martyr and Kissing Children . With the release of the album, Scogin stated, "I wish I had a great story about a big fight or an alien or something, but actually that's something I feel." Shortly after leaving Norma Jean, Scogin started the band The Chariot, saying he "Created something out of nothing... This is a basic concept of art." The Chariot released their debut album, Everything Life, Everything Breathed, Nothing Dead, and No Bleeding at the end of 2004. Records were recorded live in the studio and were raw and rude, including feedback. throughout the album. In June 2005, Scogin was the co-producer of the debut album As Cities Burn Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest . She performed guest vocals on the song "Admission: Regret". A year after Everything Life, Everything Breathing, No Dead, No No Bleeding has been released, Scogin and the rest from The Chariot continue to release Unsung EP . After a major line-up change the band returned to the studio to record what Scogin said would "define who The Chariot" was. In April 2007, The Chariot released their second full-length album titled The FiancÃÆ' Â © e . On May 5, 2009, The Chariot released their third album titled Wars and Rumors of Wars . On November 22, 2010, The Chariot released their fourth album titled Long Live . On August 28, 2012, The Chariot released their fifth and final full album, One Wing .

As soon as The Chariot broke up, Scogin started a new band called '68, with Michael McClellan. The two parts released EP called Midnight in 2014, and their debut album In Humor and Sorrow , released the following year. The band entered the studio in January 2016 to work on the second album and follow up on In Humor and Sadness . Two Viper Parts released June 2, 2017.

Solo Career

Scogin has a solo project called "A Rose by Any Other Name", and an album titled "One For My Master And One For My Dame" was released on May 7, 2010. Scogin tended to write softer, melodic music "to break writing continuity more heavy songs. "Many songs were written for his wife. He also made guest appearances on guitar for Band Listener.

Scogin is married and the couple has two children. Scogin is a Christian, and the lyrics of his bands reflect his religious beliefs.
