Movement Imagination is an American children's band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2003. The order includes Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche, and Scott "Smitty" Smith. Group members are old friends and neighbors. It all started with four members seeing the need for children to have music that "speaks to them, not to them". With Scott Durbin's vision of a live action TV show that is a cross between Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and Captain Kangaroo, the four work every night after sleep, from 9 pm to midnight. , to write songs and to develop the storyline of TV shows.

Created by four friends in New Orleans, Imagination Movers began as a television/music concept submitted to local PBS affiliates. WLAE-TV was the first to pay attention to the group and later introduced them to Beth Courtney, President & Chief Executive Officer at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. Soon after, LPB began delivering one minute of video produced by Imagination Movers itself.

The Movers build substantial regional followers by organizing children's educational songs for melodies and rhythms that adults also love. They sell over 100,000 copies of homemade CDs and DVDs. Their three indie CDs: "Good Ideas," "Calling All Movers," and "Eight Feet" along with their grassroots DVD "Stir It Up" have, combined, won fourteen national awards, from groups such as the National Association of Parenting Publications (NAPPA) and Parental Options.

In early 2005, Disney noticed, and started negotiations to add Movers to the list of companies. It was disconnected in August when flood protection was designed and built by the Army Corps of Engineers to protect New Orleans failed. The resulting flood waters claimed the band's office, as well as the homes and work of Collins, Durbin and Poche - but the deal was signed in the spring of 2006.

In 2008, Walt Disney Records introduced Imagination Movers to the nation by releasing the first nationally released CD, "Juice Box Heroes."

In September 2008, a 22-minute show featuring the group began airing on the Disney Channel's preschool block programming known as Playhouse Disney, and finally aired on Playhouse Disney's Disney Junior substitute. The Movers starred as well as co-executive producer of the show.

The Rock-O-Matic album itself is produced independently of Disney and has a more mature, contemporary rock-and-roll sound, though it is still very suitable for children. Imagination Movers can be seen on the Disney Junior app and available on Demand.

Although he did not have formal theater or musical training, Poche played with bass for a while in college and had a colorful performance background that included the task of a stand-up comic. Like his Movement counterparts, he was inspired by the 1980s and rock, pop, and alternate music of the '90s and by his front-line experience of dealing with his childrenless nights, messy playroom, and continuing pain grow. Poche plays bass guitar in Imagination Movers T.V. Show and during live performances

Originally from Baton Rouge, Poche received his title from Louisiana State University and moved to his wife's hometown of New Orleans 13 years ago. Despite losing their home due to Hurricane Katrina, the couple have returned to the New Orleans area where they currently live with their two small children.

Scott "Smitty" Smith

Smitty, a New Orleans fireman, has spent the last five years as part of Engine 7 on Basin Street and is part of Hurricane Katrina's search and rescue effort. While he is the only Mover not to lose his home due to storms, his fire house is destroyed and continues to operate from a trailer.

Smith's lead guitarist and lead songwriter is the adventurous adventurer of the group; growing up in Southern Louisiana, he hunts and fishing every weekend as a child, and continues to do so in his spare time. He loves to explore the American National Park. Smith brought his outside experience to the group by blowing ducks and call geese on several band songs, including "I Hear That."
