The raincoat or raincoat is a waterproof or waterproof coat used to protect the body from rain. The term raincoat is sometimes used to refer to a waist-length raincoat. Rain jackets can be combined with a pair of rain pants to create a raincoat .

Modern raincoats are often made of waterproof and breathable fabrics like Gore-Tex or Tyvek and layered nylon. These fabrics allow some air to pass through, allowing the garment to 'breathe' so that the sweat steam can come out. The amount of heavy rain that raincoats can handle is sometimes measured in millimeters, a water gauge.

Histori

Raincoat goes back to ancient times in ancient China. The earliest forms of Chinese constraints were made of straw and bamboo. In Chinese, the character for "Suo-yi" (??) means "raincoat straw". The coat is worn by farmers, fishermen and manual workers as protection from sun, mud and rain when working hard on the ground. The straw raincoat is depicted in many poems and articles in various Chinese dynasties. With the Tang dynasty and medieval Song, the Chinese used the sediment to create a raincoat as it was chosen because of its smooth surface and hollow structure to repel water. Because of China's previously rigid and heavy Chinese raincoat forms, China has finally devised a new approach to designing raincoats over time. One of the Chinese methods is rubbing vegetables with silk as silk is light and vegetable oil is the main ingredient for waterproofing. In addition, the Chinese incorporated newer grass and tree leaf types into their designs to create a more waterproof coat while simultaneously becoming lighter than the previous straw straw design.

The first modern waterproof raincoat was made after a patent by the Scottish chemist Charles Macintosh in 1824 of the new tarpaulin, which he described as "Indian rubber fabrics," and was made by flanking a rubber core softened by naptha in two sheets of cloth.
