Histori

Tahun-tahun awal (1880-an - 1950-an)

The story of Bahco began in 1886 when the Swedish inventor Johan Petter Johansson (1853-1943) founded his company EnkÃÆ'¶pings Mekaniska Verkstad in EnkÃÆ'¶ping, Sweden. Johan Petter, also known as JP , is an inventor and industrialist. He invented the modern plumber keys (1888) and adjustable wrenches (patents in 1891 and 1892).

In 1890 the company's sales and marketing rights for its products were acquired by businessman Berndt August Hjorth (1862-1937), founder of BA Hjorth & Co .

In 1916 Johan Petter Johansson sold all of his shares in EnkÃÆ'¶pings Mekaniska Verkstad to Berndt August Hjorth and the company was converted into an affiliate under the new company AB BA Hjorth & However, it was not until 1954 that the company changed its name to AB Bahco (an acronym from BA Hjorth & Co.).

Over the ensuing years Bahco underwent many changes and acquisitions, establishing its presence overseas and being introduced on the Swedish stock market.

Era of change (1960s - 1980s)

During the 1960s and 1970s AB Bahco consisted of four major corporations: Bahco Ventilation, Mecament, Bahco Tools and Bahco Sudamericana . Bahco Ventilation is responsible for products and facilities for air purification, energy and recycling, Mecaments have all pneumatic, hydraulics and control systems and Bahco Tools controlling the production of hand tools, air tools and hydraulic tools. Bahco Sudamericana is the largest of Bahco's overseas subsidiaries producing hand tools at a factory located in Santa Fe, Argentina.

1991 Bahco Tools was acquired by the Sandvik AB industrial company and renamed Sandvik Bahco . The original Bahco Tools factory in EnkÃÆ'¶ping, Sweden, then became a separate production center within the Sandvik business area. Saw & amp; Tools . During this time, major investments are made to increase productivity and reduce waiting time in production. In addition, a new distribution concept was introduced to improve delivery and availability.

Up to now (1990s - 2010s)

In the mid-1990s Snap-on Incorporated, a global manufacturer and distributor of tools, entered the European market by acquiring the Spanish hand tools company Herramientas Eurotools SA In 1999, Snap-on acquired a Business & amp; Tools from Sandvik. The acquired business is named Bahco Group AB , a company with 2500 employees.

Bahco - brand

Logo "fish & amp hook"

In 1862 Sweden GÃÆ'¶ran Fredrik GÃÆ'¶ransson founded HÃÆ'¶gbo StÃÆ' ¥ l & amp; Jernwerks AB , producing high quality steel using Bessemer process. In 1866 the company went bankrupt and was returned as Sandviken Jernverks AB in 1868. With new technology a number of new applications for steel wire were found, for example it was perfect for producing fishing hooks. Fishing hook should be hard and strong but not fragile at all. In 1879, the Swedish national trade council approved the use of the trademark of Fish and Hook. Beginning in 1886, GÃÆ'¶ran started the production of a knife blade made of the same high-quality steel. Small fish surrounded by hooks listed as official emblems of rolled steel for fishing hooks are also used for whipsaws, to communicate the special properties and quality of the propeller. Today all Bahco tools are stamped with this logo.

ERGO

In 1983 Bahco began to develop and manufacture ergonomic hand tools. The first products developed in accordance with ergonomic principles are screwdrivers (1983), adjustable wrenches (1984), wood chisels (1985) and slip-joint pliers (1986). In 1996, the Bahco ERGO TM concept was presented and scientifically approved as a way to prevent recurrent strain injuries and increase productivity. All Bahco tools carrying the ERGO TM brand have undergone a 11-point development program related to ergonomics and functions.
