Organizational Structure
The St. John Brigade of Singapore is largely made up of cadet members who join the organization as their CCA in high school. Currently, every school with a St. John, called the corps, is set to 1 in 10 Zones.
Core Competencies
Typically, cadet members undergo training in four core competencies - First Aid, Home Nursing (for Nursing members), Victim Transportation (for Ambulance members), Foot Drills and Physical Training. This is done through Routine Training and other Training Camps that vary from Corps to Corps and Zones to Zones. Exceptional cadets are awarded the prestigious Commander Badge of Headship after obtaining 12 skills badges (with 2 of each of the four groups of badges, Knowledge of the St. John (KOTO) Badge and Total Defense Badge).
St John Day
As the Day of Baptism of St. John, June 24, usually falls on Singapore School Holidays, the corps usually observe St. John's Day. John on the first Wednesday after school reopens. On that day, the members wore their Brigade Uniforms during official school hours. St. John Day's Message by the Chairman was read by the Principal or the student leader during the morning flag-raising ceremony. If possible, St. John Flag is also raised along with the Country Flag and School Flag respectively. On this very day, the members reaffirmed their loyalty to the Republic of Singapore and affirmed their commitment to the Order's twin motto, 'For Trust' and 'For the Service of Mankind', in reading St. John Pledge.
