Responsibility during ceremony
In an Anglo-American marriage, the groom will often give short speeches after the reception, thanking guests for attending, praising the bride, thanking members of the wedding party, and possibly sharing "roasted roast", where she makes a joke at sacrificing himself or a member of his party. His speech will usually be followed by one of the best men.
Etymology
The first mention of the term bridegroom dated to 1604, from Old English br? Dguma , compound br? D (bride) and guma (human, human, hero). It is associated with Old Saxon br? Digomo , Old High German br? Tigomo , the German BrÃÆ'äutigam , and the Old Norse brÃÆ'úÃÆ' à ° gumi .
Religion
Christianity
In Christianity, Jesus Christ is called the groom in relation to the Church as his bride. In the Gospel of John, John the Baptist speaks of Jesus Christ as the bridegroom and mentions the bride.
He who has the bridegroom is the bridegroom: but the groom's friend, who stands up and hears it, is overjoyed by the groom's voice: this is my joy because it is fulfilled.
