Handsome Shoppes is a specialty retail and clothing sized company based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania; a suburb of Philadelphia. Its subsidiaries include Lane Bryant, Cacique , Fashion Bug and Catherines Plus . Clothing is sold from over 2300 retail stores in the United States, as well as many catalogs and online sites. In 2012, companies and assets were acquired by Ascena Retail Group.

Charming Shoppes was founded in 1940, went public in 1971, and was ranked 810 in the 2010 Fortune 1000. On May 2, 2012, Ascena Retail Group, the parent company of DressBarn, announced that they will acquire Charming Shoppes with a $ 900 million transaction through a combination cash in hand and $ 325 million in loans from credit facilities.

- The Retail Store segment earns its revenue from sales through retail stores and related ecommerce stores under Lane Bryant (including Lane Bryant Outlet), Fashion Bug, and Catherines Plus Sizes brand.
- Lane Bryant - Plus-size retailer Lane Bryant was acquired by Charming Shoppes in 2001. With over 900 stores across the country, Lane Bryant stores sell women's plus-size clothing. In July 2006, Charming Shoppes launched Lane Bryant Outlet.
- Catherines Plus - Plus-size plus retailer with over 500 stores across the country, the Catherines brand targets women aged 40-65 years and sells clothes and accessories for sports and casual wear.
- The Direct-to-Consumer segment derives its revenue from catalog sales and e-commerce sales related catalogs under the title FIGI, a leading food gift retailer. On October 16, the company announced that it had closed the sale of Figi's, to Mason Companies, Inc.

- Fashion Bug - Fashion Bug is a chain that sets up Charming Shoppes - and, for many years, is their only brand. The chain, at one point, grew to more than 1,200 stores nationwide. Shops sell women's fashion clothing and are located in shopping centers, serving the middle and lower class segments. It offers plus fashion clothing and accessories, missed and junior size ranges. In June 2012, Charming Shoppes announces that Fashion Bug shop will be closed; end shops closed in February 2013. Added - Two chains were acquired as part of Catherine in January, 2000. This chain operates a plus-size women's store in Northeast and Southeast America and has previously been part of Virginia Specialty Stores, which was acquired by Catherines Inc.. in 1992. Charming operated a chain of 77 stores until 2002, and then announced it would close 80% of its locations, and convert the remaining 20% ââto Catherines brands.
- Modern Women - Modern Women is a store of 125 plus-size women's clothing stores, operating mainly in strip shopping centers in the US. The chain was acquired by Charming in 1999. The shops are mostly converted to Catherine's Brand, and the rest is for the Plus Bug Fashion brand.
- PS... Plus Sizes, Plus Savings - These stores are created by Catherines Inc. in 1980 and acquired by Charming Shoppes when they acquired Catherines Inc. in January 2000. The shops are converted to other Charming brands./li>
- Monsoon and Accessorize - Opened as a joint company between Charming Shoppes Inc. and Monsoon plc from the UK, this partnership aims to bring 2 successful UK brands to traditional shopping malls in the US. About 10 pilot locations were opened in malls in Virginia, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania in 2002. The partnership ended and stores closed in 2007.
