Christian Roth (born January 6, 1959 in Hanover, Germany) is a luxury designer designer.

Roth is Dr.'s son. Fritz-JÃÆ'¼rgen and Sabine Roth, geb. von Prittwitz und Gaffron, and recalled receiving a pair of Ray-Bans from his father at the age of 15 as a decisive moment in finding his love for glasses.
In 1980, Roth began his career in New York as assistant fashion photographer Rico Puhlmann. In 1978, he met Eric Domege who was born in France, who was studying marketing at Academie Commerciale Internationale (A.C.I.) at the time, in Paris. The couple met again in New York in 1983, and in 1984 they founded Optical Affairs.

The 1990s
With the name Christian Roth, Roth and Domege continue to design the glasses depicted on the cover of Fashion publications, from Women's Wear Daily to Vogue . In 1990, Roth and the brand were inducted into the American Fashion Designer Board. Roth was the first eyewear designer to join the CFDA.
In 1998, Roth and Domege formed a partnership with the Charmant Group to produce and distribute Roth Christian glasses around the world. The Japanese manufacturer helped the Christian Roth brand grow internationally, across the US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
2000-Present
In 2002, the couple was respected by the art world by the inclusion of their designs from the 1980s and 1990s in the exhibition "Taking Sunglasses Seriously" at the Triennale in Milano. From 2000 to 2004, Roth and Domege collaborated with designer Michael Kors on his glasses collection. The couple also worked with Karl Lagerfeld in his fashion glasses line from 2007 to 2011.
The Christian Roth brand celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2009. The designers released 25 limited editions with a monogram, a version of their Serie A style. In 2010, Christian Roth terminated a 12-year license agreement with Charmant. and take over control of all its trademarks. In 2011, Christian Roth awarded Korean-based eyewear company BCD Korea, a licensed Co. Ltd. which manufactures and distributes Christian Roth sunglasses across Asia [1]. In 2012, Christian Roth and Eric Domege founded the Company's Optical Affairs Company and launched their e-commerce destinations christian-roth.com during F/W 2013 Fashion Week Ladies Fashion Wear Daily Scoop 2013 February 13, 2013. On October 6, 2014, The Council of Fashion Designers of America has formed a new committee, The Eyewear Designers of the CFDA, edCFDA, which aims to raise the profile of the eyewear sector. Christian Roth acted as the spokesman for the group. [2].
