Casual business is an ambiguously dressed code that has been adopted by many professional and white-collar workplaces in Western countries. It requires neat yet casual clothes and is generally more casual than informal dress but more formal than casual or smart casual wear. Frantic Friday precedes the wide acceptance of casual business attire in many offices.

There is no generally accepted "casual business" definition. One definition of the casual business states that it includes khakis, trousers and skirts, as well as short-sleeved polo shirts and long-sleeved shirts, but do not include jeans, tennis shoes, tight or short skirts, T-shirts, and sweaters. Another source, an American university career service, states that casual businesses consist of more neutral colors toward darker blacks, gray, navy blue, but can include white and white, and warn that clothing should be suppressed and clean, crisp. stitches. The Toronto University of Toronto's "Clothes for Success" summarizes the casual business as "classic, clean, and put together looking where complete settings are not needed," which means trousers, khakis, or skirts; blouses, polo shirts, or shirts with collars but without a tie; some sweaters; and closed shoes. The University of Canada ends with a warning that "it is not the clothes you will wear to the club or for athletic purposes.... Do not let the word casual mislead you.You still need to look professional."

Other authors wrote in the Financial Times that "Normally the casual business for men seems pretty obvious, it's a good pair of chinos, blazers and shirts, no ties."

A BBC article suggested that "safe global standards" consist of "button down shirts", "jackets or blazers, khaki or gray trousers, and leather shoes." However, it warned that large variations occur between countries and regions within the country. US men's clothing retailers advise men to wear collared shirts, chinos, dark blue blazers, and brown shoes, while ensuring a "clean and tidy" appearance.

A Forbes contributor asked Facebook friends to define a casual business, and found a clear consensus on "For men: khaki trousers and khaki shirts." For women: trousers/knee-length skirts and blouses or a shirt with a collar, no jeans, no gym clothes. "The response to that was" I disagree. No khaki. " He stated that "there is a lack of consensus in what actually defines a casual business wardrobe, everyone knows that they do not want to see too many body colleagues, including legs."
